In the first match of the new season the reigning champions from Tow Law Dan's Castle but now playing as Tow Law Station B were held to a draw on their visit to Sunniside Moss Inn.
The home side had two points from Lee Cullinan and one each from Ivor Childs and Craig Hardy whilst the Station went ahead with one point each from Gary Watson, Colin Armstrong, Paul McMenamin, Alan Henderson, Anthony Hird and Lee Stockdale. However the Moss forced a draw by winning both doubles through Ivor Childs with Craig Hardy and Lee Cullinan with his father, Lol.
Last season's runners-up edged to a two points victory at Tow Law Station A thanks to two singles wins from Dave Walton and one each from Keith Race, Ray Johnson, Morgan Errington and John Conley. The Station replied with wins from Christopher Reed, David Fernandez, Neil Morallee and Malcolm Boughey but were beaten when they could only share the doubles points.
l The next league meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 20 at Tow Law Cattle Mart with an 8pm start when all teams must be represented.
