DELIGHTED pupils from two schools put a revamped children's play area through its paces yesterday.
The children from Seaton Carew Nursery School and Holy Trinity Primary School, in Seaton Carew, were trying out the fun at the nearby Seaton Park play area.
Over the past few months, £90,000 has been spent on creating replacing the old play equipment.
The enclosed area includes the latest technology in children's play area gear, such as super swings and also activity climbing nets.
Funded by the Seaton Carew Renaissance Project and Hartlepool Council, the scheme was devised following consultation with residents and local schools.
James Gilchrist, the council's parks and countryside manager, said: "The play area is extremely popular, but was much in need of this major investment.
"Thanks to all the improvements, the park can now offer a range of the latest exciting play equipment for youngsters of all ages.
