Cotherstone's fun weekend begins today with quoits on the east village green at 6.30pm.
Tomorrow, the procession, led by the Rowan Pipe Band, leaves the Fox and Hounds at 1pm.
This year's carnival queen will be Shona Dickson, with attendants Amy Metcalfe and Cherie Sowerby.
At 2pm, the village hall opens for cream teas. There will also be a welly-throwing competition and a balloon modeller.
On Sunday at 2pm, there will be an ecumenical service on the east green, or in the village hall if it is raining.
Also on Sunday, at Cotherstone Hagg, there will be football at 10.30am and sports at 3pm.
The annual duck race will be held at 4.30pm.
The weekend ends with a charity cricket match at Barnard Castle Cricket Club, on Monday, at 6.30pm.
