Under-15s: Bishop Auckland produced the formidable total of 179 for the loss of just one wicket in their fixture at Shildon.
The hero was Matthew Cowling who recorded one six and 17 boundaries in an undefeated 102. Matthew Atkinson was also in good form with the bat for Bishops contributing 43 with nine fours.
Replying, Shildon made just 98 for five of which Daniel Jeffrey scored 55 not out with two sixes and eight boundaries. John Barker was the most successful bowler in the Bishops attack with figures of two for 15 from five overs.
Evenwood also made a good score at home to Etherley realising 173 for three. Ryan Nicholson was just nine runs short of a century and his 91 included no fewer than 15 boundaries. Michael Robinson struck six fours in an unbeaten 46.
When they went into bat, Etherley totalled just 39 for the loss of six wickets. Barry Close took two wickets for three runs in five overs and Jamie Cummings celebrated his debut with one wicket for two runs in three overs.
Runs were less plentiful at Sedgefield where Mainsforth realised 58 for seven as Peter Brown took two for 18 in four overs. Brown then starred with the bat for Sedgefield finishing unbeaten on 38 with seven fours as the home wide won without losing a wicket.
Esh Winning were also nine wicket winners in their game with Brandon. Faced with a target for 93 they were indebted to Jonathan Rochford for his unbeaten 35 and to Ryan McCourt (38no). Jamie Robinson top scored with 27 as Brandon totalled 92 for three batting first and in the Esh attack none did better than Michael Bussey with two for 20 in five overs.
