At the league's AGM the resignations of league champions Ferryhill Greyhound and Invitation Trophy winners Heighington FC were duly accepted and as there were no applications to join the league, the league will comprise eight teams next season namely:
Barnard Castle, DGSOB, East End WMC, Grey Horse, Hole in the Wall, Shuttle and Loom, Killinghall Arms, Newton Aycliffe FC.
However, the league secretary was given approval to admit any late application to join the league subject to the fulfillment of all the conditions for league membership.
The season will commence on Saturday, August 28 and by a majority vote it was decided that clubs would play each other twice in the league, but that the Kingfisher Finance Trophy competition will be played on a league basis with each club playing one another once. The top four teams would then contest the semi-final of the competition and the bottom four the semi-final of the Invitation Trophy thus giving all clubs something to play for.
The roll of honour for the 2003-2004 season was as follows:
League: champions: Ferryhill Greyhound; runners-up - N. Aycliffe
League Challenge Cup: winners - Grey Horse; runners-up Ferryhill Greyhound.
Invitation Trophy: winners - Heighington; runners-up - Hole in the Wall.
Harold Wilkinson Trophy (player of the year): Mark Jenkinson (Shuttle and Loom) 8 awards.
Leading goalscorer: Darren Tate (Grey Horse) 18 league goals.
Referee of the Year: Keith Thompson (Coundon).
* The league would like to record its thanks to all the referees who officiated in the league last season and we look forward to renewing acquaintances next season.
