THE Richmond Motor Club hosted the British Youth C&D Trials Championship at Parkgate Farm, Wensley, near Leyburn, last Saturday.
The entry of 52 competitors rode three laps of a 15-section course and C class rider Ben Morphet ran out the clear overall winner on his Gas Gas.
He finished some 12 marks clear of second-placed William Brockbank on a Sherco, with Zak Shepherd (Beta) a further six marks down, just three marks clear of Richard Sadler (Beta) from West Witton.
Another local, Jack Stones, took the Delon twin shock class from Blair Rodber and Robert Waite, with Chloe Richardson in fourth place. Harriett Peacock, from Hipswell, finished 23rd, so there was plenty of local up and coming talent on show.

D class mono shock: B Allen, Gas Gas, 20; Chris Gleford, Gas Gas, 23; Alan Baines, Beta, 31. 1st class twin shock: Jack Stones 77; Blair Rodber 85; Robert Waite 109, all Yamaha.
The Darlington Motor Club Trial on Sunday was open to all classes, including youth D, and was held at Marske, near Reeth, where four laps of a ten-section course sorted out the entry of 72 competitors.
Paul Sadler on a Beta took the expert class on a score of 23, but novice Richard Fawcett dropped only 14 marks on his Bultaco.
The club's next club trial, the Keith Burnicle Memorial Trial, is on July 11 at Oxnor. It is open to all classes except TY80s.

Consett Motor Club held round one of their series 4 club trials on Pea Farm, Stanley, on Saturday. The entry of 79 competitors was sorted out over a rough four-lap ten-section course which saw L Hagon on his Sherco finish without loss of any marks.
