THE sounds of rock and pop music legends will be recreated in a live show next week.
Second-year students at New College Durham are to present a concert called The Final Showdown.
It is the culmination of a two-year BTEC National Diploma in Popular Music programme and will be the last chance for the students to prove themselves.
Music student Peter Morris said: "The first half of concert will include new and old rock classics while the second half presents more 'chilled out' numbers - the idea of having two sets is to showcase everyone's different tastes."
The teenagers have been busy rehearsing since January. They will perform tunes from well-known groups such as Air, Foo Fighters, Bill Withers, Motorhead, Led Zeppelin and Beck.
Performances take place in the college's drama studio tomorrow at 7.30pm, and on Wednesday at 1.30pm and 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at £3. For further details, call the college on 0191-375 4000.
