A showpiece music venue has struck the right note with jobseekers.
Hundreds attended a recruitment event on Saturday to become part of the team of The Sage Gateshead and be considered for one of 250 jobs up for grabs.
Organised by Gateshead Council's Economic Development Service, Jobcentre Plus, Gateshead College and The Sage Gateshead, the one-off event took place at Baltic The Centre for Contemporary Art.
More than 250 jobs were available, ranging from full time, part-time and casual positions in bar and hospitality work, customer service and box office positions.
Jobseekers were able to meet staff from The Sage Gateshead face-to-face, in an informal setting and receive on-the-spot job information, as well as details on future training opportunities and pay rates.
Dave Peebles, district manager for Gateshead Jobcentre Plus, said: "This was a fantastic opportunity to find out about working in an amazing setting."
At the heart of a cultural regeneration, The Sage Gateshead will offer a world-class music facility to professional and amateur performers as well as a place for local people to enjoy, learn and participate in music. It will also be a home to Northern Sinfonia.
