JUNIOR chefs have been busy creating delicacies at Darlington College of Technology.
A group of 14 children, aged ten to 14, are taking part in an eight-week course to experience life in a professional kitchen.
At the end of the session they will cook a banquet for their parents and help to prepare a wedding reception.
College catering tutor Becky Dougill said: "We have been doing really technical dishes, not easy ones, such as chicken casserole, fish in sauce, Yorkshire curd tart and bread and butter pudding.
"The children have worked extremely hard and seem to have a genuine love for food, which you need to become a chef."
Thomas Newcomb, 13, of Branksome Comprehensive School, said: "I came here to learn how to cook because I love eating and would love to be a chef."
