WET weather failed to dampen the spirits of young footballers in Darlington at the weekend.
A total of 900 children took part in a football tournament, held as part of Branksome Carnival, at Branksome School. Visitors also enjoyed a bucking bronco, balloon and badge-making and the chance to throw things at beat officer PC Amanda Stevens, who was in the stocks.
Organiser Anne McGrath, from Cockerton and Branksome Living Enterprise, said: "It's been a bit disappointing with the rain but we didn't let it spoil things. Quite a few people came along and helped us raise money for good causes."
