A WOMAN from Hartlepool has received a national award for her environmental work.
Beverley Miller, engineering administrator at Britvic Soft Drinks in Hartlepool, has been awarded the British Safety Council Diploma in Environmental Management.
She was among 22 people who received the award and will now continue to help to improve and develop environmental initiatives within the workforce.
David Ballard, director general of the British Safety Council, said: "Issues such as pollution, waste management and ecological sustainability affects us all. However, the public has every right to expect businesses to be environmentally responsible.
"By achieving the Diploma in Environmental Management, Mrs Miller has shown a big commitment to improving environmental management and performance."
The diploma aims to encourage delegates to establish management systems tailored to their own companies needs.
