SKIPPING lessons usually get youngsters in trouble but this time teachers joined in at a County Durham school.
Children at Blue Coat Primary School in Neville's Cross, Durham, took part in a sponsored skip to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
The event tied in with a visit from England netball player Deborah Percy, who chatted to children about her career.
She was also there to present the school with a Active Mark Sport Award and a Healthy School Award.
School secretary Helen Grabham said: "The day reflected the variety of different things there are here that everybody can get involved in.
"The children here get to try things they would not otherwise be able to."
Some of the sports on offer at the school include fencing, rugby, football, cricket, tennis, rounders and athletics.
Ms Grabham said: "It is not just about sport. It is about creating a happy and healthy environment where everybody can get on."
