cyclists are being given the chance to take a trip around some of the region's villages.
An 11-mile circular ride, organised by Hartlepool Borough Council's countryside access team, takes place on Sunday.
Starting at the visitor centre at the town's Summerhill Park at 10am, the cyclists will follow a route west along countryside lanes and cycle routes.
The ride takes in West Park, High Throston, Dalton Piercy, Greatham, Owton Manor, Fens and Brierton Farming Hamlet before returning to Summerhill.
It is a moderate ride over level and slightly hilly ground and will take about four hours to complete depending on the weather.
Chris Scaife, Hartlepool council's countryside access officer, said: This is a great way to get out and about on two wheels, explore part of the Hartlepool area and take in some summer sun."
The event is free and cyclists are asked to meet at the Summerhill Visitor Centre just before 10am. Anyone wanting to take part can telephone (01429) 523524.
