AIR travel could be simple in 20 years' time if imaginative ideas dreamed up by pupils are put into practice.
Year nine pupils from Wolsingham School and Community College toured Newcastle Airport before devising their plans for the next generation of air passengers.
Trolleys programmed to lead travellers to departure gates, cars on tracks automatically parking and meeting return flights, smart cards replacing passports, fingerprint identification and DVD entertainment systems were among students' ideas for easing future journeys.
Teams of pupils worked on catering, marketing and textile projects, and a Press team recorded their efforts. One group made a promotional video of the North-East to greet new arrivals.
The project was one of several exercises being run as part of the school's activities week.
