SOME famous faces took to the cricket field to warm up for the opening performance of a comedy.
Outside Edge, the second play in the Ian Dickens Productions summer rep season, opened at Darlington Civic Theatre last night.
The cast took time out from rehearsals to line up for a photocall at Feethams cricket ground yesterday ahead of the play's run at the town's theatre.
Outside Edge, set in a cricket pavilion, became a hugely successful TV comedy as well as a stage play.
The cast is headed by Craig Fairbrass, best known as firefighter Gary in London's Burning and as Dan Sullivan in EastEnders.
Completing the line-up are Robert Duncan (Drop The Dead Donkey), Frazer Hines (Emmerdale and Doctor Who), Glenda McKay (Emmerdale), Sabina Franklyn (Keep it In The Family) and West End actress Anita Graham.
The play runs until Saturday.
Information on performances and ticket prices are available from the box office on (01325) 486555.
