ANTIQUE fans enjoyed a day out yesterday finding out whether they had a fortune hidden in their attics.
Silver teapots were the most common antiques taken to the valuation event at Pinchinthorpe Hall, Guisborough, east Cleveland, with jewellery, pictures and prints also popular.
Simon Mitchell, silver and jewellery specialist from international fine art auctioneers Bonhams' saleroom, in Leeds, was on hand to give advice to owners who came from as far afield as Beverley and Durham.
Henrietta Graham, the company's representative for North Yorkshire, said: "It was a fun day. Anyone who didn't manage to make it along can always make an appointment to see a Bonhams' specialist.
"We will be returning to Pinchinthorpe towards the end of the year."
Items left for sale will be included in forthcoming auctions at Bonhams' salerooms in Leeds, London or around the country.
