LIVE music and colourful costumes brought the generations together as a town enjoyed its annual festival.
Visitors and residents gathered in Crook Market Place for the Crook Community Samba Festival yesterday.
The town was a hive of activity after a samba procession that was the culmination of weeks of music and art workshops held in 20 venues, involving schools, community care homes and other groups.
Four samba bands were formed for the day, featuring residents from Bradbury House, the Cheshire Home, Parklands, Southfield Lodge House and the Wear Valley Centre.
The music was created by children and the residents of care homes in the area, and representatives of each gave a performance.
