MUSIC, dance and entertainment is set to bring Darlington to life during the town's 22nd annual Community Carnival this weekend.
Grand floats, created by schools, community groups and organisations using this year's theme of Myths and Legends, will parade through the town.
Special floats to look out for this year include King Arthur's tale from residents of Firthmoor, and Pegasus and Olympians from Willow Road Guides and Brownies.
The colourful procession will set off at noon on Saturday, from the Arts Centre, after Roderick Francis, Mayor of Darlington officially launches the event. The parade will make its way through the streets of Darlington for an hour before an afternoon of free entertainment kicks off at Stanhope Park.
There will be music, a charity fair, stalls and entertainment for all the family, with proceeds from the two-day carnival going to Darlington Young Carers.
The fun will continue on Sunday with live events taking place in the Market Square. Music will be provided by local bands Frenetic Audio: Lifetime Skiver, Guv'nor, The Andrew Yeardon Band and Unlearn: The Merchants of Cool.
