DURHAM will play host to a day's music, dance and drama on Saturday when more than 100 children join a festival of street theatre.
There will be fireworks and fountains as well as dragons and dancing demons to celebrate the end of a week's work called Creative Journey.
There will be performances in Millennium Square outside the Gala Theatre from 2pm, featuring local youngsters and street performers.
The climax will be Fire and Fountains, a new street theatre performance at 7.30pm.
Poetry reading will take place at Clayport Library from 2pm and 4pm with writers Andy Croft, Subhadassi, Bob Beagrie and Gillian Allnutt.
The young people have been involved in every aspect of the show with the help of professionals. The programme has been organised by Creative Partnerships Durham-Sunderland, a Government-funded body that provides opportunities for young people, teachers and entertainers.
