A PILE of sticks and rubber bands were transformed into a four metre-high pyramid by primary school pupils.
In an hour, the nimble-fingered team of year six pupils created the intricate structure in the playground at Escomb Primary School.
The project, by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) Construction Skills and developer Wades, which has built a classroom of the future at the school, aimed to encourage youngsters to consider the industry for future employment.
Jenny Bulmar, of Wades, said: "There is a huge shortage of people interested in the construction industry and we want to show young people that there are many more opportunities available than the obvious brick laying and working on building sites."
Terry Hanlon, of the CITB, said: "The activity encouraged teamwork and opened their minds to the elements that go into building a structure."
