WEEKS of wrangling over the affiliation of Northallerton's Christmas lights committee has been resolved.
District councillor John Coulson had called on the committee to be split from Northallerton Town Council.
Now the town council's amenities committee has agreed to review the independence of the lights committee in January.
It felt that if the lights group was to split from the council, it should be after this year's illuminations have finished.
The working group was formed because residents complained about the poor standard of festive lights.
The council has £7,000 in its budget for the display and meetings are usually chaired by mayor Tony Hall.
