PLANS have been unveiled to encourage more local businesses to get involved in a North-East town's football club by organising an open day at its stadium.
Recently appointed commercial manager of Darlington Football Club, Bob Gorrill, last night revealed his ambitions of attracting businesses as part of the rebuilding process.
He said: "We would like to show people what this football club has to offer.
"We are opening up to businesses and this is an opportunity for them to get involved with the club and take a look at our facilities."
The open day will take place on July 6, from noon for two hours and then 5.30pm onwards, with a buffet and wine.
The club is also looking for someone to become the Mr Q mascot after it was confirmed he will be making a comeback next season. As well as working match days, Mr Q will be available for private hire.
"We want somebody who has a bit of character about them and who is physically fit," said Mr Gorrill.
There are also vacancies for programme sellers and fundraising 50-50 ticket sellers.
For further details contact the club on (01325) 387000.
