Readers Durham County League, Under-15s: Brandon made the formidable total of 157 for five when they entertained Washington who replied with 93 for the loss of five wickets, writes Malcolm Pratt.
Tom Orton top scored with an unbeaten 44 hitting six boundaries while Zak Unger hit one six and five fours out of 28 not out and Ian Hyde found the boundary line on three occasions contributing 21.
Hooper top scored with 37 for Washington and in the Brandon attack spinner Jamie Robinson claimed two for ten in four overs.
Tudhoe enjoyed a ten wicket victory at Etherley who batted first and realised 71 for six while Evenwood had 25 runs to spare in their home game with Sedgefield.
Lee Foster struck six fours in 32 and for Sedgefield, Thompson had three for 13 and Brown two for 17, the pair each bowling five overs.
Evenwood ended with 87 for eight on the board and in reply Sedgefield managed only 62 for seven of which Brown scored 23. Foster followed up his good performance with the bat by taking three for 13 runs in five overs and Ryan Nicholson also managed five overs capturing two wickets for 13 runs.
Willington had ten runs in hand visiting Esh Winning. Wilton recorded one six and three fours in 27 as Willington ended with 108 for nine on the board with Michael Oughton claiming four wickets for 30 runs in five overs.
When Esh Winning responded they totalled 98 for six which included 35 by David Thornton with one six and three boundaries while Ryan McCourt had four fours in 23. Evans bowled a good end for Willington and was rewarded with three for 21 in five overs.
Whelpdale took four for 13 runs in five overs and Curry had three for 19, also from a five over spell when Crook Town were restricted to 91 but the total proved more than sufficient since visitors Ushaw Moor replied with 51 for six. Andrew Robinson top performed with the ball for Crook capturing three wickets for five runs in five overs.
Under-18s
Etherley had eight wickets in hand overtaking the Haughton total of 91, writes Malcolm Pratt.
Taz Ali top scored with 28 for Houghton while Carl McGregor ended unbeaten on 32 and Carl Lee finished with 22 not out in Etherley's match-winning reply of 92 for two.
After totalling 111 for four which included 29 by David Williams Mainsforth restricted Shildon to 64 all out. Shane Rowley had a good night with the ball for Shildon claiming three of the four Mainsforth wickets for 33 runs.
Lee Foster took three for 21 and Kurt Daley two for 14 when Bishop Auckland were pegged to 51 for seven by Evenwood who lost losing just one wicket as Daley followed up his good performance with the ball ending undefeated with 46.
Stephen Wallace (51) and Andrew Johnson who ended undefeated on 63 led Brandon to 124 for the loss of just one wicket but the formidable total still proved insufficient as Washington won with six wickets remaining.
Lee was 43 not out and Cuthbertson scored 27 for Washington while for Brandon Ian Myles had two for 27.
Christopher Guy took the man of the match honours in Crook Town's big win over neighbours Willington. When Crook batted first and totalled 128 for five Guy contributed 76 while for Willington, Wearmouth returned the figures of four for 25. Willington though could only score 82 for eight as Guy captured three of their wickets for just 28 runs.
Two players made an identical score of 106 not out when Esh Winning met Ushaw Moor. Carl Turner was prominent when Esh Winning reached 177 for two while Craig Usher made a similar unbeaten 106 when Ushaw Moor responded with 143 for four. Stuart Hall was also in good form with the bat for Esh Winning adding 37 to the match-winning total.
Wilkinson was another youngster among the runs as Langley Park defeated Kimblesworth. He was undefeated on 96 and Winn scored 28 out of the Langley Park total of 162 for three before Kimblesworth replied with 124 for four which included 57 by Bishop and 23 from Smithson. Dinsdale, with three for 12, best performed in the Langley Park attack.
