A YOUNG musican is back in the region for his first gig this year on home turf.
Singer-songwriter Pete Shoulder, 20, of Waldridge Fell, near Chester-le-Street, County Durham, will be playing at The Archer, Archbold Terrace, Jesmond, Newcastle, on Monday night, topping a bill that includes bands Everlasting and Nine Black Alps.
His trio, which has changed its name from The Others to The Keytones, last played in the region last November, appearing at the Newcastle Opera House.
"We are looking forward to playing in the North-East again," he said.
"We are hoping to get an album out this year and hopefully there is a single coming out in September.
"The EP we did last year has been well received, but we'll be redoing it for the album to get the stripped- down sound of the band live."
The gig is at 7.30pm and tickets cost £4 in advance from the pub or £5 at the door.
