THREE teenagers have been arrested after a teacher was robbed in daylight.
The 32-year-old supply teacher from Yarm, near Stockton, had his laptop-style bag, containing paperwork and a Bible, snatched when he was attacked from behind, at 12.50pm on Wednesday.
He suffered head injuries during the robbery as he walked across Unity City Academy campus, in Ormesby Road, Middlesbrough, and was treated at the James Cook University Hospital before being allowed home.
The attackers escaped on a stolen Triumph 750 motorcycle, which was seend being ridden in the area and on the school field before the robbery.
Two 19-year-olds and a 14-year old were arrested in connection with the incident. The bike was later recovered and the stolen bag was found nearby by street wardens
Acting Detective Sergeant Mark Puckring said: "This was a shocking incident to have happened in the grounds of the school during school time.
"Whilst the teacher has been allowed home from hospital, his injuries could have been a lot more serious and the three arrested could have faced more serious charges.
"I would appeal for anyone who has any information or who saw the youths riding around on the bike on Wednesday to contact me on (01642) 303126."
