CHILDREN have been learning how to battle the germs that lead to upset stomachs and sore throats.
School nurse support worker Diane Garthwaite has been promoting the benefits of Sally Soap to pupils at Firthmoor Primary School, in Darlington, as part of a hygiene campaign run by Darlington Primary Care Trust.
She said: "Germs get passed around and we have got to try and stop this by having clean hands.
"Handwashing can be fun and by making it interesting, we hope to get this important message over."
The children learned that the body contained good and bad germs, but when the bad germs got the upper hand, people often became ill.
