GOOD causes have benefited from a mayor's fundraising efforts during her year in office.
Councillor Doreen Greenwell presented cheques for £1,868 to representatives of Rosebank School in Ferryhill, for children with special needs, and Macmillan Nurses.
The money was raised through fundraising events and contributions from Cut Loose hairdressers and the Reverend Keith Lumsdon, who raised £100 from his Friday dinners. The same amount was raised by a carol concert at St Luke's Church.
Donations were also received from Ferryhill Athletic and bookmaker Reg Boyle.
