A KALEIDOSCOPE of colour and design has gone on show at Darlington College of Techology.
Work by students is being exhibited in the art department and the media and design centre, in Cleveland Avenue.
First and second year students on National Diploma courses in art and design, graphics, fashion and multimedia as well as First Diploma students are showing work in the exhibition, called Kaleidoscope, until June 30.
Inspiration from the catwalk proved a winner for design student Alec Doherty, 17, who is studying for a National Diploma in design. He used movement and fashion as the themes of his latest work.
The design has been reproduced for all the publicity material for the exhibition and a Kaleidoscope fashion show.
"We were asked to design posters, T-shirts and flyers," said Alec, of Darlington.
"I took my inspiration from looking at the movement you get on the catwalk. I was really pleased when my design was selected, especially as there were so many good ideas and it was the first time I had done anything like this."
The exhibition is open daily from 10am to 4pm. The fashion show will be held tomorrow, in Darlington Arts Centre, at 2pm and 7.30pm.
