VISITORS to a market town will be able to enjoy a taste of France next month.
The March de France will be bringing a 23-stall French Market to Westgate, in Guisborough, from Thursday, July 8, to Saturday, July 10.
There will be a cheese lorry with a large selection of French cheeses from Normandy and many other regions of France.
Charcuterie will be available, including sausages and salamis, as well as olives, Normandy cider, smoked ham, Pont l'vque and Livarot cheeses, Calvados saucissons, and pat normand.
Sweets, honey, pure butter, homemade biscuits and cakes, duck and goose products, cheesecakes and garlic will also be on sale.
Fresh pralines and crepes will be made on site and visitors can buy homemade apple and Calvados fondant cakes and farm made jams.
There will also be soap from Marseille, lavender, handbags, wallets, wooden toys, chic French sweaters, wooden roses, tablecloths, and French house dcor on sale.
On Saturday, the traditional markets and monthly speciality market will join the French market creating a record-breaking number of market stalls.
Carol Hudson, of the Guisborough Market Town Initiative, said: "By bringing the French Market to Guisborough we hope that it will encourage new visitors to the town."
The event is scheduled to start at 9am and finish by 5pm on Thursday and Friday and from 9.30am to 4.30pm on the Saturday.
