VILLAGERS have celebrated the completion of a play area for teenagers with a fun day.
The event was held in Ludworth Community Centre, on Saturday, by Ludworth Play Area Group to mark the opening of Teenzone.
The project was developed by Groundwork East Durham with the village's youngsters.
Its facilities include a youth shelter and football/basketball arena with inter-linking paths.
Project officer Jason Martin said: "It's great that the young people in Ludworth have put in so much effort to make their plans come true.
"This facility is much needed and will certainly be well enjoyed.''
The fun day was staged thanks to a grant from Barclay's SiteSavers.
