TEENAGERS have been letting their hair down after finishing their GCSE exams.
Easington Community School pupils took part in a prom night at Lumley Castle, Chester-le-Street.
The boys wore tuxedos and the girls wore fishtail dresses.
Most travelled in limousines but one group of friends arrived by fire engine.
Teacher Helen Rutherford, who helped organise the evening on Thursday, said: "It was their exam on Thursday so it was a bit of final fling before they get their results in August.
"The idea has come from America but it gives the pupils something to look forward, the chance to get dressed up and say goodbye to some of their friends and teachers."
