THOUSANDS of cyclists from across the country attended the 60th anniversary of the York Cycle Show at the weekend.
The show, held at York Racecourse, brought together enthusiasts, trade and cycling organisations.
Attractions included championship racing, vintage bike displays and stunt cycle demonstrations by Jes Avery.
More than 70 exhibitors and traders attended and there were cycle rides for all ages and abilities, as well as the UK Emergency Services Cycling Conference.
There was a grand parade of 2,000 cyclists from the city centre yesterday following a special service at York Central Methodist Church.
The first York rally, held in 1945, was a celebration of cycling after the Second World War and attracted 5,000 people. It has become a major date on the cyclists' calendar with more than 15,000 people expected to have attended over the weekend.
