HOUSEBUILDER Broseley Homes is moving its operations to a larger office complex - 200 metres along the road.
The company said its expansion had forced the move, but it did not want to leave Sunderland Enterprise Park, in North Hylton.
The move from Defender Court to Investor House was so convenient many staff had transferred their own material.
Len Worsfold, director and general manager of Broseley Homes, said the move had transformed working conditions and prepared the company for further expansion.
He said: "We have grown steadily since our formation five years ago, and with the plans we have to maintain our progress, we have simply outstripped our original premises.
"A Wearside location is convenient and central for our operation, which covers the area from Tyneside to Teesside, so we decided to look at locations close to home.
"Broseley Homes has come a long way since our first development in Newton Aycliffe. We may only have been operating in the region for four years, but we have already secured a sizeable chunk of the market for affordable new homes."
Broseley Homes, which builds a wide range of affordable homes - especially for first-time buyers, is working on developments from Percy Main, in North Shields, to Thornaby, on Teesside, and to the west at Bishop Auckland and Crook, in County Durham.
