A SENSORY support team has presented its work on a three-year project to produce information for deaf people and the hard-of-hearing at a conference.
The team, a venture by Redcar and Cleveland and Middlesbrough councils, is based at The Grange, Eston, and was chosen by Manchester University to take part in its The Edge of Change research programme.
The team, which included people who are deaf and hard-of-hearing from the area and staff from the sensory support team, presented some of its work to a conference hosted by the university.
Team manager Tracey Gray said: "The work was very well-received. It has been a difficult three years as we have had to manage the project around our own work, but everyone is pleased."
The team is now undertaking a review of its services for people who are deaf or hard-of-hearing and those who are blind or partially sighted.
