RON SPINDLOE served his time as a painter and decorator and now in retirement he has turned to painting of a different kind.
This week, a selection of his beautiful landscapes went on exhibition at the Discovery Centre, in Seaton Holme, Easington Village.
Mr Spindloe, who lives in Greatham, near Hartlepool, trained as a painter and decorator before going into the soft furnishing business.
But it was painting of the more artistic kind that he had always returned to.
"I always loved art at school but after leaving I didn't have time to pursue it,'' he said.
About 20 years ago he decided to try his hand at painting landscapes with acrylics.
After his retirement, he has never looked back.
Almost all of his works are completed on site and he enjoys working in different locations and capturing the best features of each season.
A member of Hartlepool Art Club, he has exhibited his paintings in Pickering, Ilkley, Durham DLI art gallery and many other local exhibitions.
His latest exhibition will remain on display until July 27.
