PEOPLE with diabetes, their families and carers, are being invited to an event offering advice about living with the condition.
The Diabetes for Life conference will be held in Bishop Auckland Town Hall on Saturday, July 10, to help people with the condition live healthy and fulfilled lives.
Durham Dales Primary Care Trust and national charity Diabetes UK have teamed up to organise the event, which is open to anyone affected by the condition.
Themed areas will offer displays and presentations, including a section on everyday life, covering issues including travel, employment and driving.
Information on healthy lifestyles will include advice about weight management and dispel any myths about diabetes and eating. A chiropodist will also attend the event.
To reserve a place at the event, which runs from 9.30am to 4pm, call Karen Walker, diabetes strategy facilitator for south Durham on 0191-301 3820.
