YOUNGSTERS went to school proudly wearing their Wellington boots as they prepared to take part in an African dance.
The Gum Boot Dance was the highlight of a host of activities taking place at Ferryhill Station Primary School.
Children joined singing and dancing sessions with visitors Arts Isiziba throughout the day.
The activities were arranged as part of an art week at the school.
Headteacher Val Jago said that an art week is held every term.
To mark the school's dedication to teaching art it will be awarded with an Art Mark.
Ms Jago said: "All the children bought their wellies with them and they have been singing and dancing and they have absolutely loved it. They have had a lovely time.'
