HUNDREDS of people in Darlington will take a pound to work today to help a good cause.
Macmillan Cancer Relief has asked workers in the town to donate £1 to pay for local cancer care services in County Durham, Teesside and Northallerton.
The charity hopes the event will raise at least £6,000.
Steph Wood, from Macmillan Cancer Relief, said: "We have got over 100 companies, groups and shops registered to take part in and around Darlington. That includes the library, council offices, the Civic Theatre and companies like Capita and Amec."
Anyone wishing to make a donation can leave money at the Macmillan office, in the Imperial Centre, Grange Road, or at Alpha Radio, in Woodland Road.
