SUPERMARKET area manager John Thompson has turned recording star to raise funds for charity. The 57-year-old, of West Cornforth, is based at North-Eastern and Cumbrian Co-op's headquarters in Gateshead.
Over the last few years he has been instrumental in helping to raise thousands of pounds for charity with his on stage performances at charity staff events.
Now Mr Thompson has recorded The Thompson Collection, a 17-track CD of classic songs including Ferry Cross The Mersey, Act Naturally, Three Steps To Heaven and Words. He has had 3,000 CDs produced and has already sold 2,000. CDs are available from Co-op food stores priced £3.
