YOUNGSTERS have taken part in a series of workshops that gave them an opportunity to experience cultures from around world.
The annual multi-cultural day at Hurworth School Maths and Computing College, in Darlington, was a great success.
Year nine students could choose to take part in three workshops from nine available then gave a presentation on what they had learned.
Chefs from the Garden of India restaurant, in Darlington, demonstrated how to make curry and chapatis while Anne Timney, who takes over as the school's head of English next year, ran a drama workshop.
Students were also able to learn how to make a Chinese ceremonial dragon, and take part in activities including salsa dancing, Indian head massage, a drum workshop, Spanish lessons and an anti-racism workshop run by Durham Police.
