CLERK of course Barry Overy engineered a first class conclusion to Guisborough and District MC's five Saturday night trials with a three-lap, ten-section course among the rocks and gullies of Skelder Farm, Commondale.
Well supported throughout the summer, this final event of the series attracted an entry of 91 riders, with the sections riding slightly easier than imagined.
Two young riders on a roll at present, Steven Suddes from Yarm and Steven Hind of Commondale, continued to entertain with some exciting riding, but also showing that all-important competitive element.
On the night Suddes sneaked the win by one mark due to his better ride on the hill climb, which he cleaned on every lap, while observer Sophie Playle-Watson was quick to catch Hind for a dab.
The greasy adverse camber caught many an experienced rider out, such as Phil Manton and Dave Clarke, while young John Banks surprisingly squandered three.
Pressure was on in the Clubman A class as Terry Raw and Bill Braithwaite tied on two marks, Raw taking it on furthest clean.
Young Guy Kendrew put a storming ride together to win Youth Expert on six marks, which included five marks lost on the big rocks of section three. Sean Galway was the only rider to stay clean on this section over the three laps.

The Saturday night trial was followed next morning by an easy trial, again marked out by Barry Overy.
Four laps of ten sections over a similar course to the night before gave Dominic Coleman and Mick Clements a win with faultless rides, although they were both getting a little shaky by the last lap.
Young Tom Clements was trying hard to match his father, but lost a dab between the rocks of section three.
Mark Doughty and Alan Maynard were other riders returning to the fray after a number of years off, dropping one and two respectively.
John Pattinson and Alan Cross kept the old bikes to the fore, Pattinson going clean, Cross losing a dab.
The D class contingent rode brilliantly and did well to finish on TY80s in what was a very hard trial for these little bikes.
