A PRIMARY school football team is enjoying success after bringing home some silverware for the first time in 25 years.
The team of nine, ten and 11-year-olds from Woodhouse Close Junior School, in Bishop Auckland, has claimed a perfect double by lifting the league title and The Rudd Cup.
The youngsters have only lost one match in the league and managed to beat off stiff competition from seven schools in the Bishop Auckland and surrounding area to win the cup.
Headteacher Stephen Lockey said: "They hadn't won a league game in three years until this season and this is the first time in 25 years that the school has won a cup.
"They have all worked really hard and I am pleased with the effort they have made both in terms of the way they have played and the way they have conducted themselves on the pitch.''
