THE public are getting the chance to experience all things magical this weekend, courtesy of one of the region's attractions.
The National Railway Museum, in York, is staging a wizard festival today and tomorrow, when visitors of all ages will be able to interact with an assortment of entertaining characters.
They will be performing a variety of magic, comedy and dance acts ranging from powerful illusions to balloon-modelling routines.
Families are encouraged to go along to the two-day event dressed as supernatural wizards, witches and magical characters. Visitors who conjure up costumes can enter a prize draw to win Harry Potter prizes.
There will also be some magician's workshops as part of the national Children's Art Day celebrations, open to both schools and young visitors.
