VISITORS to a town's carnival braved the elements to enjoy a full day of entertainment.
Despite the rain, many turned out to support Crook's Town Carnival on Saturday.
A colourful parade that started at Glenholme Youth Club got the day off to a great start, leading visitors to the main event at Crook Cricket Club.
Some stalls had to pack away early to avoid the showers, but many stuck it out to enjoy the sunny spells in the afternoon. One of the highlights of the day was a Bucking Bronco challenge. The Crook Town Grenadiers jazz band was also a hit.
Organiser Alison Hepple said: "A great deal of hard work goes in to putting this on. It is just a pity that we didn't have the weather and some of the stalls had to go home because of the rain. But despite the weather we have had a good turn out and I would say it has been a success.''
