A MAN was in intensive care last night after he was stabbed in the face, head, neck and stomach.
The 35-year-old was allegedly attacked in the early hours of yesterday at a house in Brinkburn Road, Darlington. A woman made an emergency call from the property just after 2am.
A 44-year-old man from Darlington went voluntarily to police at 5am.
He was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and was being questioned by detectives last night.
Inspector Alan Davidson, from Darlington police, said the victim was being treated for multiple stab wounds at the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
"He is in and out of consciousness and officers have not been able to interview him yet," he said.
"The actual injuries are two stab wounds to the neck, one to the face, one to the top of the head and three to his stomach.
