A headteacher of a high-performing village primary has been speaking of her delight at the prospect of meeting The Prince of Wales.
Diane White has been invited to a reception at the home of Prince Charles, at Highgrove in Gloucestershire, to receive a Royal pat on the back on behalf of the school.
The invitation is a reward for the achievements of Esh Winning Primary School, in County Durham.
It was awarded an A* rating for the progress pupils make during their time at the school.
Mrs White said: "It's an honour to accept this invitation to represent Esh Winning Primary School at the reception.
"It's wonderful that the staff, governors, parents and pupils should receive this recognition for their hard work and dedication which has resulted in the outstanding achievements of the school.
"Prince Charles is committed to education, and recognises and appreciates the excellent achievements of schools.
"We're delighted that he takes time to meet in person representatives of such schools and are thrilled that he has selected Esh Winning Primary School this year."
Mrs White said the achievement was forged by the whole school community. She added: "I consider myself very fortunate and privileged that, as headteacher, I can represent that community when I meet Prince Charles."
