A GROUP of North-East teenagers are set to wow audiences on the international stage.
Youngsters from Greenfield School Community and Arts College in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, have helped to write, edit and star in a film based on the Ten Commandments, called Exodus 20.
The pupils have been meeting once a week, out of school hours, to work together, creating short stories and poems and to look at other aspects of literature.
Each of the schools taking part developed ideas for the film around one of the Ten Commandments.
Greenfield pupils Leigh Verner, Stephanie Gaunt, Sarah Charlesworth and Jane Littlefair took the main parts in a film based on the commandment Honour Thy Father and Thy Mother.
The Greenfield approach to the subject is titled Thou Shalt Not Worship Beckham.
The film was premiered to an invited audience at the Tyneside Cinema, Newcastle, and will also be shown at a range of international film festivals. It will feature as a documentary on Tyne Tees Television in the autumn.
It will be screened at Greenfield on Thursday, July 15, at 6pm. Places are free, but need to be booked by contacting (01325) 307147 or 379048.
