CRICKET legend Ian Botham called at a North Yorkshire pub to help make local charities very happy.
He was the special guest at a presentation night held in the Buck Inn, at Maunby, near Northallerton.
The pub holds a variety of fundraising events each year and chooses a number of local good causes as the recipients.
The sports star presented £200 to Hambleton and Richmondshire Primary Care Trust's (PCT) intermediate care team.
Specialist practitioner Pam McIvor, who accepted the donation, said the money would allow them to buy essential household and domestic equipment.
As well as the PCT's team, the local Diabetes Support Group and the Child Victims of Crime group also received donations.
Buck Inn landlord Phil Hayton said: "We are delighted to be able to support such worthwhile causes. It allows us to put a little something back into the community."
