PEOPLE have voiced concern over plans for a home for vulnerable youngsters in Darlington.
Residents living near the property, in the Deans area, are concerned at the nature of the home and fear they are not being informed.
One woman, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "We don't know who is going to be living there and how secure it'll be."
The property, on the corner of Dean Grove and Orchard Road, has been acquired by Young Foundations, a company of private health group Castlebeck Care (Teesdale Limited).
Young Foundations plans to use it to provide a homely environment for vulnerable children who need time away from their own homes.
A company spokesman said: "We can assure local residents that these children will be continually supported by highly experienced staff 24 hours a day, and that they pose no risk to the public whatsoever."
Officials from Young Foundations will meet Darlington Borough Council representatives on Tuesday.
Anyone with concerns about the site is asked to contact Barbara Thompson, at Young Foundations, on (01325) 366365.
