The league suffered less than most with the weather and all six games in Division A reached a conclusion. Cliffe batted 35 overs totalling only 82 at home to Haughton for whom McCarthy took three wickets for just 16 runs, Irvine two for 17 and Wilkinson two for 24.
When they went into bat Haughton reached the target for the loss of four wickets in 30 overs. Bainbridge, who went in at number three, ended unbeaten on 31 recording five boundaries. Alan Currie top scored with 29 for Cliffe, whose best performer in attack was Peter Carrick with two for 29 from eight overs, four of which were maidens.
Ingleton won by eight wickets at home to Barningham after bowling out their visitors for 82 in 35 overs. Steve French top scored with 31 striking three boundaries and in the Ingleton attack Shaun Russell bowled throughout returning the magnificent figures of nine for 24 in 15.3 overs including four maidens.
When they went into bat Ingleton were indebted to Peter Mellor whose undefeated 37 included six boundaries. The innings lasted 24.3 overs and Elgey, who opened the innings, was still there at the end with 18 not out in a total of 83 for two. Both wickets were taken by French at a cost of 35 runs in ten overs.
Rockcliffe Park overtook the Catterick Village total of 131 for six with seven wickets remaining. After losing their two openers for a combined total of only ten runs, Rockcliff Park had Fiddell (41no) and Krishnan (47) in good form and the victory was completed when Garbutt joined Fiddell and hit an undefeated 23.
When Catterick Village made first use of the wicket they were pegged to 130 for six as Garbutt took three for 41 and Krishnan three for 53. Galey was in good form with the bat for Catterick Village hitting 52 before being stumped and later in the innings K Swainston contributed a useful 21.
Middleton St George had 35 runs in hand of Heighington despite totalling only 119 for seven. Paul Rogers was their top performer with the bat opening the innings and scoring 37. Jameson added a useful 24 and for Heighington Allen had three for 62 and Boocock three for 50. Replying Heighington managed only 84 for seven as McKenna captured five wickets for a mere 39 runs and Hussain two for 39, the pair bowling unchanged throughout the innings.
Witton-le-Wear crashed to 38 all out and lost by nine wickets to Barton. Peter Frankland took four wickets for 29 runs and J Frankland had the magnificent figures of five for eight before Miller with an unbeaten 28 quickly led Barton to victory.
Runs were more plentiful at Raby Castle where Cockerton were all out for 122 before losing by five wickets. Cockerton made an indifferent start to their innings but 29 by Lee and an unbeaten 31 from Cowan raised the score even though Jones claimed six for 54 and Poole three for 42 in the home attack. Raby Castle conceded a couple of early wickets when the opening pair managed eight runs between them, but Wilson, who went in at number three, contributed a good 44 and Poole ended unbeaten on 54. Lethbridge took three of the five wickets for 31 runs and Leafe the other two for 43 runs.
In Division B Lands had almost 100 runs to spare defeating Trimdon CCA after realising 222 for six in just 35 overs.
Adam Elstob struck three sixes and nine boundaries in 87 and Stephen Linsley had one six and nine fours scoring 60 while for Trimdon CCA the most successful bowler was Brian Goughtrey with three for 29 in 18 overs. Watchman took two for 81 and one batsman was run out.
When they went into bat Trimdon CCA lasted 33.4 overs before being all out for 126 which included 57 not out by Goughtrey who hit one six and three fours. Ian Galston was in good form with the ball for Lands capturing three wickets for 15 runs in 3.3 overs, while Linsley added to his batting performance returning two for 44.
Brompton-on-Swale had just 17 runs in hand defeating Rockcliff Park after posting 132 for four which included 31 by Stabler and 67 not out from Dale.
When they replied Rockliffe Park were dismissed for 117 after openers Cundy (19) and Raby (24) had given the innings an encouraging start. Marshall added 19 batting at number three, but the bowling of Felstead with five for 52 and Leyburn three for 61 proved decisive.
Aldbrough St John defeated Eryholme by 127 runs when the home side managed 60 for seven batting second. Warne contributed 28 but most of the time the batsmen were well contained by the bowling of Sillars with three for 16 and Murphy, whose three wickets cost him eight runs.
Runs were a lot more plentiful when Aldbrough made first use of the wicket and realised 187 for three. Murphy ended undefeated with an excellent 101 and Jones was 61 not out. Top performer with the ball for Eryholme was Hollis with two for 72.
Middleton Tyas made 71 but Spennithorne and Harmby had to work for a three wickets victory. In a game where bowlers dominated Wilkinson was defiant scoring 28 for Middleton Tyas, while for the visitors Fowler captured three wickets for eight runs with Walker, Greaves and Molyneux all picking up a couple of wickets.
When they went into bat Spennithorne and Harmby also found rnns difficult to come by but edged to victory losing seven wickets, five of them to Wilkinson for 30 runs. Rommel took the other two wickets for 32 runs.
East Cowton totalled 143 for five at Heighington, whose innings just got under way when the rain returned. Grant made a good 42, Clark 20 and Smith an unbeaten 25, while for Heighington Overfield claimed four of the five wickets for 55 runs. Heighington were ten without loss when the game was abandoned.
Little play was possible at Middleton-in-Teesdale, who were 20 for none against Dales.
